Empathy and Power
The quote " If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion or political leaning to the point that truth and justice become secondary considerations, your education and exposure are useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments, you are a liability." by Chuba Okadigbo.
Should this make we all rethink our own philosophies and how we engage in more civil conversations, knowing that our truths may not be the only truths or that they are not above all other.
We leaders should think and act according to the grievance and enhance our mindset according to the change required. It is vital to challenge our own mindset, embrace the diversity and debate for justice.
People are solely attached to their culture and ethics, where they don't try to acknowledge the circumstance that one has to suffer from.
Our education system has not formed us to face the real world crisis. It has just taught us about the issues and problems. There are so many cases to retrospect with the quote which actually signifies that people are a liability to mankind.
To further gape around the matter with instances, The army is one best example that pops in mind where they beyond all factors and political effects try to protect us from the terrors. They work solidarity for justice and peace.
Talking about justice and integrity, Justice is as vital as necessary for endangered animals as individuals. The killing of a Pregnant Elephant in Kerela was a tragic incident where that elephant lost the child in her and also lost herself. She tried her best to save the child but couldn't.
We are the ones to protect our nature and animals. This is not what education, educated us to destroy our habitat.
Another instance is about the Americans who have been protesting and rallying for justice for the blacks fro the death of George Floyd. In the Protesting rallies, not just the black we witnessed the whites are in support of this movement. "Justice for racism is salient".
How can we not talk about how Coronavirus pandemic has desolated our life financially, emotionally, and mentally. The case has been rising immensely but it is huge respect and salute to the doctors who are truly giving back their learning in the form of treating the patients and taking immense care. It is the most difficult job during this crisis to put your own lives in danger and help the needy irrespective of religion, tribe, culture, and political connection. Because viruses or any natural calamity is biased.
Here is learning, when a problem occurs to any individual it doesn't measure color, caste, culture, religion, tribe, power, political connections, etc at a whole it just affects.
So why we the "civilized citizen" with the best education and culture avoid analyzing the situation. We should be more concerned and take a step for growth and enhancement because an underdeveloped mind and orthodox culture are not suitable for 21st-century grievance. Modern problems need modern solutions. Empathy and power have to be used correctly when called for.
